Hui from the boy band Pentagon will drop the single "Whale" on Tuesday.
"Whale" will be the second entry in the +memory play project, a collaborated series of releases. The first entry to the project was "Nostalgia," by singer-songwriter Woody which dropped in March.
"'Whale' bases on the electro-pop genre to express the atmosphere of a cool summer night, and the song features refreshing guitar sounds and melodic lyrics," +memory play project said Thursday.
The single will show Hui's iconic vocal skills, it added.
Hui debuted as a member of Pentagon in 2016 under Cube Entertainment. Pentagon is known for tracks "Shine" (2018) — which landed No. 35 on Billboard's The 100 Greatest K-pop Songs of the 2010s — "Naughty boy" (2018) and "Feelin' Like" (2022). Hui completed his mandatory service in Nov. 2022 and joined cable network Mnet's boy band audition program "Boys Planet" this year. He went by his real name Lee Hoe-taek in the program. Pentagon released a Japanese digital single, "Shh," in May.
