RAF Typhoons scrambled in Estonia

epa10726648 A handout photo made available by the British Ministry of Defence showing a Russian Air Force Tu-214 (L) and a British Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoon (R) as two British Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoon's from 1 (fighter) Squadron were scrambled to intercept a Russian Air Force Tu-214 command and control aircraft flying in international airspace as it transited south from mainland Russia to the Kaliningrad Oblast, 04 July 2023. The Russian aircrafts remained in international airspace. The Typhoons were then scrambled for a second time within a matter of hours to intercept the same Tu-214, this time escorted north by 2x Su-27 Flanker Bs aircraft. The Typhoon?s are deployed in Estonia as part of NATO?s Baltic Air Policing mission OP AZOTIZE.
