Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo joined energy saving campaign, the Cool Korea challenge, to encourage people to wear lighter clothes to cut back on energy costs.
Initiated by fashion group Hyungji and state-run Korea Energy Agency, the relay campaign involves business leaders encouraging people to wear light and cool clothes to save on energy consumption.
Chairman Ham was picked out by Kolon Vice Chairman Ahn Byung-duk last month to participate in the campaign. Ham, wearing cool business casual, discussed the importance of cutting back on energy costs, with Hana Financial Group employees at its office in Myeong-dong, central Seoul, on June 30.
Ham nominated SC Bank Korea CEO Park Jong-bok and Genesis BBQ Chairman Yoon Hong-geun as the next participants of the campaign.
“Hana Financial Group will contribute in lowering the Earth’s temperature which is getting hotter and hotter,” Ham said.
“I hope, from this challenge, a culture of cutting back on energy cost by wearing cool clothing will spread.”
