Mirae Asset launches Global AMP to foster global talents

Mirae Asset Group, a leading financial group in South Korea, announced on Wednesday that it launched Global Advanced Management Program (Global AMP) for top-level executives. The program, which commenced in June, aims to cultivate leaders with a profound understanding of global financial markets and strengthen Mirae Asset’s position as a global investment powerhouse.

With Global AMP, Mirae Asset is determined to nurture leaders who will shape the future growth of the organization.

Global AMP comes on the heels of the successful participation of Mirae Asset Group’s Global Strategy Officer (GSO) Park Hyeon-joo in the renowned Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in 2002. Reflecting on the valuable knowledge and insights gained during his time at Harvard, Park emphasized the significance of offering the same enriching experience to the next generation of leaders within the company.

The selected participants for the program include Mirae Asset Securities’ President Kim Mi-seob, Mirae Asset Global Investments’ Vice Chairman Choi Chang-hoon, President Lee Jun-yong, Vice President Kim Young-hwan, Mirae Asset Venture Investment’s Vice Chairman Kim Eung-suk, Mirae Asset Global Investments India’s Chief Executive Officer Swarup Mohanty, Chief Investment Officer Neelesh Surana and Mirae Asset Global Investments USA’s Chief Executive Officer Thomas Park.

Mirae Asset Securities’ President Kim Mi-seob and Mirae Asset Global Investments’ Vice Chairman Choi Chang-hoon will embark on an immersive two-month executive education program at Stanford University in the U.S., commencing on June 23 and concluding on Aug. 5.

Meanwhile, Mirae Asset Global Investments’ President Lee Jun-yong is scheduled to attend a similar two-month training program at Harvard University, beginning in September. Vice President Kim Young-hwan, Vice Chairman Kim Eung-suk, CEO Swarup Mohanty, CIO Neelesh Surana and Mirae Asset Global Investments USA’s Chief Executive Officer Thomas Park have planned their participation in programs at Harvard University and Stanford University until 2024.

The primary objective of the Global AMP is to equip Mirae Asset with a cadre of exceptional talents who will drive the company’s leap to becoming a globally competitive organization while fostering an innovative organizational culture. Celebrating its 20th anniversary of international expansion since its inception in Hong Kong in 2003, Mirae Asset currently boasts a formidable global network spanning across 17 regions worldwide.

A spokesperson of Mirae Asset Group highlighted the significance of the Global AMP as a strategic initiative to develop leaders capable of steering Mirae Asset’s future growth as a premier global investment group. The spokesperson reiterated the group’s commitment to identifying and nurturing individuals with extensive experience and expertise in global markets, thereby fortifying Mirae Asset’s robust global competitiveness.
