Asan Medical Center to open gastroenterology hospital in Dubai

Asan Medical Center (AMC) will establish a gastroenterology hospital in Dubai by 2026, its first overseas hospital it will operate, a according to the hospital on Thursday.

The gastroenterology hospital will be located in the Dubai Healthcare City as part of the city’s Phase 2 expansion. AMC will take charge of the overall operation and training, while Scope Investment, a private investment group based in the United Arab Emirates, will provide the business foundation.

Asan’s gastroenterology hospital in the UAE will be the first of its kind in six Gulf Cooperation Council member countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.

With a total floor area of 21,250 square meters with two basement floors and seven ground floors, the hospital will house 65 beds, including an intensive care unit.

It will offer comprehensive medical services for all gastrointestinal diseases, including the stomach, colon and liver, and will also provide integrated management before and after liver transplantation. AMC plans to provide integrated medical services, enabling patients to have liver transplantation at its Seoul hospital and to receive post-transplantation care at the UAE gastroenterology hospital.
