SK energy, SK REIT to build multi-complex energy hubs

South Korea’s SK energy Co. will join hands with SK REIT Co., a real estate investment trust backed by SK Group, to transform directly-managed gas station sites to multi-functional energy platform, the company said on Wednesday. SK energy signed an agreement with Clean Energy REIT Co., the conglomerate’s real estate body that manages the sites of its 116 gas stations on the project to enhance its environmentally-friendly complex station structure. SK Sihwa industrial gas station in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, will be the first to be developed into a multi station that houses a gas station, EV charging station, car washing facility, and solar power facility. Construction will begin this year.
