Singer Yena will release her second single, “Hate XX,” on June 27, her agency Yuehua Entertainment announced Thursday.
Yena is a former member of project girl group IZ*ONE.
The coming soon poster revealed Thursday showed a silhouette of Yena in the background alongside the release date, June 27, 2023, 6 p.m., stylized as "2X23. X6. 27 18:XX," alluding to the title of her upcoming single.
“Hate XX” will be Yena’s fourth music release, after her debut EP “Smiley” (2022), second EP “Smartphone” (2022) and “Love War” (2023).
Yena's first two albums focused on upbeat, brightly themed songs, while her latest single, “Love War” showed a darker side of singer with songs about “lovers who love each other yet destroy each other in the process of loving.”
Yena, also known by her full name Choi Ye-na, debuted through IZ*ONE, a project girl group comprised of 12 winners of Mnet’s hit audition program “Produce 48.” IZ*ONE disbanded in April 2020 and Yena made her solo debut in 2022 under her agency, Yuehua Entertainment.
Yena recently held her first fan-meeting event, “Yena Friends,” in Seoul and Japan in February and will continue her fan meetings in Macau in September.
