Subsea telecom system will connect India, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore

epa10661948 A Malaysian vessel equipped with integrated cable machinery heaves the MIST, (Myanmar/Malaysia India Singapore Transit), a subsea cable system that is being installed from Chennai to Singapore, at Pattinapakkam beach, in Chennai, India, 29 May 2023. Japanese telecommunications company Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), started the installation of MIST from Chennai to Singapore. As part of the project, the MIST will cover a distance of 8100km connecting Mumbai, Chennai, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore and will carry up to 200Tbs of capacity under 12 fiber pairs, one of the largest bandwidths in Asia-Pacific region. The aim of NTT is to connect its large-scale data centers between India and Asian countries. EPA/IDREES MOHAMMED
