Scores gather in Croatian village for Marshal Tito's birth anniversary

Thousands of people from ex Yugoslavia gathered on 27 May in the Croatian village of Kumrovec, the birthplace of the leader socialist Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito (1892-1980), as part of the celebrations for his 131st birth anniversary. Tito admirers traveled from Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Serbia and from within Croatia to the annual meeting, organized by Anti-Fascist alliances and the Association of Josip Broz Tito, carrying flags of the former yugoslav federation, partisan hats and communist insignia. The village was reconstructed in Yugoslav times as an ethnographic museum simulating rural life in the 19th century, when Tito was born. EPA/ANTONIO BAT
