Girl group NewJeans is currently in preparation for a new album.
“It is true that NewJeans is currently in preparation for a comeback. The dates are not confirmed yet [and] we will notify when the dates are confirmed,” the girl group’s agency ADOR told the Korea JoongAng Daily on Tuesday.
Media outlets reported Tuesday that the girl group will drop a prerelease track on July 7, followed by a new album in the same month.
NewJeans made its debut as a five-member group — Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein — that debuted in August 2022 with EP “New Jeans” under ADOR, a newly-founded music label under HYBE, led by the former creative director of SM Entertainment, Min Hee-jin.
NewJeans stormed the global K-pop scene with successive hits, such as “Attention,” “Hybe Boy,” “Ditto” and “OMG.” The girl group received rookie awards and the Performance of the Year award from the Asia Artist Awards in December 2022.
The girl group will hold its first fan meeting, “Bunnies Camp,” at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Songpa District, southern Seoul, on July 1 and 2.
