Former member of boy band NU’EST Ren will make his solo debut in June, according to his agency Big Planet Made on Thursday.
“Ren [real name Choi Min-gi] is currently preparing a solo album, aiming to release it in June,” the agency wrote in a statement. “Please look forward to his new challenge.”
Ren was a member of NU’EST from 2012 until it disbanded last year. He has released solo songs as part of K-drama soundtracks or individual projects so far, but has never officially dropped a solo album.
The singer has also been active in musical theater, and his fan club MINracle was founded recently. Ren is set to launch his acting career in July through the ENA drama series “I Have Waited a Long Time for You” (translated).
