Taeyong from boy band NCT will release his first official solo EP on June 5 titled “Shalala,” his agency SM Entertainment announced on Monday.
The upcoming album will feature seven tracks, including lead track “Shalala,” all written and produced by Taeyong himself.
“Taeyong has been involved in the general production of the album from the planning phase,” explained the agency.
Taeyong, as the lead dancer and lead rapper of the boy band, has worked on multiple tracks released by the boy band, including “Sticker” (2021), “Cherry Bomb” (2017), “The 7th Sense” (2016). His solo works include “Moonlight,” released during the boy band’s concert in 2021, and “Long Flight” (2019) and “Love Theory” (2022) released on SM Station and more.
Pre-orders for the album will begin Monday.
Consisting of a total of 23 members, NCT made its debut in 2016. The 23 members are divided into different sub-groups and subunits: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT Tokyo. Taeyong debuted in NCT U back in April of 2016 with the digital single “The 7th Sense” and in NCT 127 in July of the same year.
