Air Busan will resume flights to Xi'an and Zhangjiajie in China, following a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Starting on May 24, Air Busan will commence operations on the Busan-Xi'an route, offering two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In addition, the airline will provide two weekly flights on the Busan-Zhangjiajie route, scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays. From June 3, the frequency of flights on the Zhangjiajie route will be increased to four times per week, with flights available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

With the resumption of these two routes, the low-cost carrier's Chinese route network will expand to four destinations, marking a 50 percent recovery rate compared to pre-Covid levels. Prior to the outbreak, Air Busan operated eight regular routes to cities in China, including departures from Busan and Incheon.

"As the entry and quarantine regulations in China are gradually being relaxed, we are witnessing a visible recovery trend in our route operations,” an Air Busan official said. “Looking ahead, we will continue to enhance our presence in the Chinese market by expanding our flight offerings."
