Police apprehend man accused of abusing his baby

Police on Sunday apprehended the father of a two-month-old baby for allegedly physically abusing his son. According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, the 33-year-old is accused of abusing his child at his home in Bupyeong District, Incheon.

Police on Sunday apprehended the father of a two-month-old baby for allegedly physically abusing his son.

According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, the 33-year-old is accused of abusing his child at his home in Bupyeong District, Incheon early this month.

The accused and his 30-year-old wife took their baby son to a hospital last Friday after he refused to take his bottle and was lethargic.

Doctors called police after suspecting the child was abused following a diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage and broken ribs.

The father told police that he had “once dropped his son on the floor from knee height,” but he could not specify when that incident took place.

Police will work with the hospital to investigate the parents and whether or not the alleged abuse took place on a regular basis.

“The mother will be investigated as a witness for now,” said an official from the police.
