Courtyard by Marriott
Announcement: Courtyard by Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extraordinary portfolio of 30 global hotel brands, announced the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Sejong in Eojin-dong, Sejong, Korea’s ultramodern administrative capital. The new hotel will be the sixth Courtyard hotel to open in Korea and is set to serve the needs of international and local business and leisure travelers, empowering them to stay connected and productive with intuitive services and a fresh modern design.
“We are very excited to expand the Courtyard by Marriott brand portfolio to Sejong City, which has become an important administrative, cultural, educational and medical destination in South Korea,” said Jennie Toh, vice president of Brand Marketing & Brand Management, Asia Pacific. “Courtyard provides guests with true choices and flexibility with comfortable spaces, inviting them to focus on productivity at work, or simply relax when staying.”
Located approximately 113 kilometers (70.2 miles) south of Seoul, Sejong City has been designated as the new administrative capital of Korea, with many government departments already relocated here from Seoul, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance; Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the Ministry of Science, Information, Communications Technology and Future Planning. Sejong balances its 21st-century infrastructure with natural greenery, abundant recreational spaces and cultural gems, making it a very attractive destination for business and leisure travel.
The elegant and minimalist design of Courtyard by Marriott Sejong makes it an attractive choice for all travelers, with natural color palettes, ambient lighting and versatile interiors that reflect a modern, smart-casual style throughout. The hotel offers 281 well-appointed guest rooms including 15 suites, all with large windows which fill the rooms with abundant natural light. All rooms feature 65-inch smart TVs, bathrooms with adjustable-transparency smart glass, comfortable bedding and flexible working spaces.
The hotel offers a choice of two convenient dining outlets serving fresh sustainable menus that highlight the best of local and international ingredients. Sejong Kitchen is an all-day restaurant with à la carte menus and afternoon tea sets. Sejong Café serves coffee and tea, as well as signature drinks and classic cocktails. Sejong Lounge, located on the 20th floor, is a space where guests can work and relax while enjoying coffee and tea. The stunning city view, seen through the large windows of Sejong Lounge, adds a special touch of uniqueness that sets it apart from the everyday.
The modern meetings and conference facilities at the hotel make this an ideal choice for hosting a wide range of business or social events and weddings. The hotel provides a seamless event experience with a total of nine event rooms and 752 square meters (8,094 square feet) of total event spaces, including a customizable Grand Ballroom with a 260-guest capacity, 320-inch full HD screen, 4K high-resolution cameras, the latest video conferencing systems, wired/wireless microphones, and high-speed Internet. Additionally, guests can enjoy early-morning or after-work relaxation and exercise with panoramic city views at the hotel's 24-hour fitness area, equipped with the latest Technogym equipment.
"We are thrilled to welcome guests to Sejong, Korea's stunning new administrative capital, which offers an abundance of sights and experiences for both business and leisure travelers," said Jennifer Lee, General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Sejong. "Our hotel is the perfect choice for trailblazers looking to explore new and exciting destinations, and we are excited to showcase the best of Sejong to our guests."
Courtyard by Marriott Sejong is conveniently located adjacent to Sejong Lake Park, South Korea’s largest artificial lake with its many walking paths and is about a 10-minute walk from the Government Complex Sejong and Sejong Convention Center. Guests can easily travel to Seoul in under 50 minutes by taking the KTX high-speed train from Osong Station, which is a 7-minute, 6-kilometer drive from the hotel. Additionally, the Cheongju International Airport is located approximately 39 kilometers or a 30-minute drive from the hotel."
To commemorate its opening, the Courtyard by Marriott Sejong is offering a special room package that includes breakfast for two at an additional cost of 10,000 won ($8) until June 30. Additionally, children under 12 can receive one complimentary children's menu at Sejoung Kitchen by May 31.
