GS25 is offering discounts on its in-store Cafe25 coffee at selected branches in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
The convenience store chain announced Thursday it will offer a 600-won ($0.45) discount to anyone purchasing a Cafe25 americano at certain branches providing they bring their own tumbler. The coffee is originally priced at 1,300 won.
The discount will be offered between June 1 and 12 at 440 GS25 branches nationwide.
Branches participating in the discount event are those offering tax refund services. Specific locations will be announced on the KTO's VisitKorea website.
The promotion follows GS Retail, which runs GS25, signing a memorandum of understanding with the KTO on Wednesday.
The convenience store and KTO will be working together through December. Popular GS25 products such as Won Soju Spirit and Omori Kimchi Stew Ramen will be introduced on the VisitKorea website. Discount vouchers for the convenience store will be provided via the website.
"Through this partnership, GS25 and the KTO will work with each other to promote eco-friendly tourism and boost local consumption," said Chae Eun-soo, a manager at GS25. "GS25 is aiming to engage in various events to promote GS25 as the most well-known convenience store brand to foreigners."
