Inauguration of European Cybersecurity Competence Centre in Bucharest

epa10617196 Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca delivers his speech at the opening ceremony for the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), in the campus building of the Politehnica University (UPB), in Bucharest, Romania, 09 May 2023. ECCC, the first agency of the European Union based in Romania, aims to facilitate innovation and industrial policy in the field of cybersecurity, as well as to oversee related development and coordination projects across the EU.

Europe's new center will also serve the purpose of faster recruitment for talent in the IT and cybersecurity worlds, in coordination with the bloc's key research and innovation funding program, Horizon Europe, as well as the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), an EU funding platform focused on bringing digital technology closer together for businesses, citizens, and public administrations.
