Jin Air added Apple Pay to its list of available payment services Monday, the first low-cost Korean carrier to do so.
Apple Pay is a payment service available on Apple devices like iPhones, iPads and Macs. Korean Air, a full-service carrier, was the first domestic airline to implement Apple Pay.
Customers can now purchase Jin Air flight tickets using Apple Pay by adding their credit or check cards to the wallet app on their Apple devices and verifying their identity using Face ID or Touch ID.
Jin Air in 2015 became the first airline to introduce Kakao Pay. Since then, the airline has continued to expand its payment options and now offers seven simplified domestic payment services, including Naver Pay and Payco.
"The addition of Apple Pay gives customers more payment options and increases convenience for online purchases," Jin Air said.
