Integrated Shinsegae membership program opens next month

Shinsegae Group said on Monday that it will launch “Shinsegae Universe Club,” an integrated online and offline membership program, next month. Shinsegae Universe Club is a paid membership that adds benefits from offline affiliates, such as Emart Inc., Shinsegae Department Store, Starbucks and Shinsegae Duty Free, to its online membership, Smile Club. Members can enjoy benefits across Shinsegae’s online channels, SSG.com and Gmarket, as well as offline affiliates.

Shinsegae also plans to add benefits through various partnerships with external companies. Along with the launch of the integrated membership, the group’s customer data, which was previously decentralized, will also be integrated. Building a unified database is expected to provide personalized shopping content and generate new customers.
