People fleeing Sudan fighting arrive in Aswan, Egypt

Egypt's Foreign Ministry said on 27 April that more than 16,000 people fleeing the fighting in Sudan had crossed into Egypt, including over 14,000 Sudanese nationals. The ministry also said 6,960 Egyptian nationals were evacuated from Sudan till 30 April. Heavy armed clashes between Sudan's military and rival paramilitary groups have occurred in the capital Khartoum and other parts of the country since 15 April 2023. EPA/KHALED ELFIQI
