Thailand on alert against COVID-19 after 27 infections and one death from Arcturus variant

Thailand is on alert against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic after health authorities confirmed that has been about 52 percent of new COVID-19 infections in Thailand are from the new Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16, also known as Arcturus. One infected person has died, prompting the public to wear face masks to prevent the spread of the pandemic, according to the Center for Medical Genomics.
