K-pop agency The Black Label partnered with Thai conglomerate CP Group to establish a joint venture company named “TheBlackSea,” aiming to discover and train next-generation Thai artists. [THE BLACK LABEL]

K-pop agency The Black Label partnered with Thai conglomerate CP Group to establish a joint company named "TheBlackSea." Its aim is to discover and train next-generation Thai artists with potential, the agency said Tuesday.

Producer Teddy, best known as a songwriter and the creative director of star K-pop acts Blackpink, BigBang, 2NE1 and Jeon Somi, will be part of TheBlackSea's audition process.

The first audition by TheBlackSea will start accepting online applications from Tuesday via its email: audition@theblackseaofficial.com. The audition will be held in Thailand.

Anyone who is 13 years of age or older, regardless of nationality or gender, can apply.

Finalists selected by Teddy will be given opportunities to receive professional training at The Black Label in Seoul and potentially debut "as a global artist."

"Through [Thai member] Lisa of Blackpink, we confirmed that there are many talented and creative artists [overseas]," Teddy said in The Black Label's announcement issued Tuesday.

Birathon Kasemsri Na Ayutthaya, CEO of TheBlackSea, called it "a start for CP Group and The Black Label to open a new chapter in Asia."

"Combining the two companies' expertise and resources, we are convinced that we can find next-generation artists that can captivate the world, and that we can help them grow into a global artist," the CEO added.

The Black Label, founded in 2015, is an associate company of K-pop powerhouse YG Entertainment. It currently manages artists Jeon Somi, Taeyang of BigBang, Zion.T and more.
