Flights to and from Jeju Airport canceled due to strong winds

Strong winds are hindering the normal operation of flights to and from Jeju on Tuesday morning.
As of 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, 33 flights to Jeju Airport and 22 from the airport have been canceled due to strong winds.
Weather authorities issued strong wind and gust warnings in Jeju.
Southerly wind is currently blowing at a speed of 12.8 meters per second (28.6 miles per hour) around Jeju Airport, which is expected to rise to as fast as 15.6 meters per second in the afternoon.
The fastest wind speed around Jeju Airport on Tuesday is expected to be 25.6 meters per second.
"Difficulty in flight operations will continue [throughout the day] due to strong winds," a spokesperson for Jeju Airport said. "Please confirm whether your flight is still on schedule before visiting Jeju Airport."
