Woodstock Music and Art Fair 2023 rock festival will feature hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo, rock bands Boohwal, No Brain, 6band, artists Kim Do-kyun, Insooni, Kim Kyung-ho, Kim Wan-sun and many more, announced SGC Entertainment on Friday.
Woodstock 2023 taking place on July 28, 29 and 30 in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, will be the first time that the festival will be held outside of the United States.
Loudness, one of the most popular Japanese heavy metal bands, has been announced as the first headliner of the festival. The band became the first Asian rock band to land on the Billboard 200 chart, with its fifth full-length album “Thunder in the East” (1985).
Other artists on the first lineup announcement on Friday included hip hop duo Dynamic Duo, singer Insooni — commonly known as Korea’s R&B diva —, Le Eun-mi, An Chi-hwan, Lyn, Ali, Kim Kyung-ho, rock bands Boohwal, No Brain, 6band and guitarist Kim Do-kyoon.
More artists will perform at the festival, which will be unveiled at a later date, according to the organizer.
Woodstock is one of the most iconic names in the world of rock festivals, with its 1969 festival featuring legendary artists such as Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, Santana and more. While the festival continued in 1994, 1999 and 2009 to celebrate its 25th, 30th and 40th anniversaries, it generally saw mediocre success.
