Taeyang will release his second EP “Down to Earth” on April 25, announced the artist’s agency The Black Label on Wednesday.
The album cover revealed on social media showed the Big Bang member posing for the camera on top of a fallen tree in a field.
Following the EP announcement, Taeyang released a surprise teaser video on the same day. The 35-second black-and-white video was a sneak peek of “Seed,” the lead track of the upcoming album.
Lisa from girl group Blackpink will feature on one of the tracks and appear in its music video, according to The Black Label.
Taeyang's last music was digital single “Vibe," which was released on Jan. 13 and features Jimin from boy band BTS.
Taeyang debuted as a member of boy band Big Bang in 2006 and released his first solo album two years later in 2008. “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” the lead track from Taeyang’s second full-length album released in 2014 stormed music charts for weeks and landed at No. 3 on Melon’s yearly music charts in 2014. His last full-length album was “White Night” released in 2017.
Taeyang signed with The Black Label on December 2022 after being with YG Entertainment for over 16 years. The Black Label was founded in 2016 as a subsidiary label of YG Entertainment by the Korean-American rapper and producer Teddy, who is known for setting the musical direction for YG Entertainment. The agency became independent in 2020 after YG Entertainment sold its shares.
