Mirae Asset Securities announced its 2023 plan for social contribution activities on March 17.
It plans to hold various activities in which all of the company’s members, from directors to desk officers, will participate, including Mirae Asset Securities Chairman Choi Hyun-man.
Having started in March, it published environmental pop-up books to donate to a local child care center, and in April and May, it will continuously push for its sustainable projects including the cultivation of Ichon Hangang Park, called M.Forest; picking up litter while jogging, or M.Plogging; and wall painting to better the surrounding environment.
Mirae Asset Securities will hold a total of nine social contribution operations in the latter half of the year as well. This will include making braille books as a co-prosperity activity for people with disabilities, holding exhibitions by artists with developmental disorders, continuing ESG conservation efforts at nature reserves within protected areas, donating personal goods to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and upcycling. A lunch concert will also be performed by performers with developmental disabilities.
“Social contribution activities are a warm practice of capitalism in return for the love from our customers. … We will continue to set an example as a No. 1 company in the securities industry,” said an official from Mirae Asset Securities.
Since its foundation, Mirae Asset Securities has established a sustainable social contribution organization and has actively carried out projects led by executives and employees with the aim of spreading a sharing culture within the company and to solve social agendas. It also expanded contact-free donations during the Covid-19 pandemic, while increasing participatory social activities focused on environmental campaigns after the easing of social distancing. In addition, it provides various educational content and services, practicing its social responsibility aiming to improve of financial alienation problems and enhancement financial accessibility.
