PSV Eindhoven and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors signed a partnership deal on Monday in an effort to develop both sides’ youth academies.
The Dutch club said through its official website that both sides will learn from each other through the joint youth development program.
“In the short term, a delegation of experts and trainers from PSV will travel to South Korea," PSV Head of Youth Development Ernest Faber said. "There they will analyze their youth academy and provide advice based on that analysis.”
Youth players from Jeonbuk will also visit PSV Campus De Herdgang — the club’s training facilities — sometime this year to train with the PSV youth talents.
“The PSV Academy trains players for the international top,” Jeonbuk Technical Director Park Ji-sung said. “When we were approached, we didn’t hesitate for a moment. We’re really looking forward to learning from each other.
Korean football legend Park played for PSV in the early 2000s, during which he won the Dutch football league twice. He then rejoined the club at the end of his career and retired there in 2014.
