IVE tops music streaming charts after release of first full-length album

IVE ranked at the top of multiple music streaming charts amid the release of the girl group’s first full-length album “I’ve IVE” on Monday.
Lead track “I AM” currently sits at No. 1 on Bugs real-time streaming chart and Genie’s real-time chart.
On the Melon Top 100 chart, “I AM” first landed No. 3 at 7 p.m., managed to climb up to No. 2 and is only beaten by IVE’s own pre-released track, “Kitsch,” released on March 27. B-side tracks “Blue Blood" and “Lips” landed at No. 50 and No. 93 respectively on the Melon Top 100.
IVE’s previous releases also stayed strong on charts, with all three previous lead tracks, “Eleven” (2021), “Love Dive” (2022) and “After Like” (2022) landing on Melon’s Top 100 chart for 70, 53 and 33 consecutive weeks.
Released eight months after “After Like,” “I AM” is the girl group’s first full-length album that talks about “the attitude of having confidence on the path that you are following, and discovering a ‘me,’ different from yesterday.”
“I AM” was written by lyricist Kim Eana. Kim is known for writing lyrics for multiple hit tracks, most notably for singer IU, which includes “Nitpicking” (2010), “Good Day” (2010), “You & I” (2011), “The Red Shoes” (2013).
IVE members also participated in writing lyrics. Yujin and Wonyoung were named as the main lyricists for “Heroine,” “Mine” and “Shine With Me.” Gaeul and Rei helped write the lyrics for “Hypnosis,” “Not Your Girl” and “Next Page.”
Consisting of six members — An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz and Leeseo — the girl group debuted in December 2021 with the single “Eleven.” It is best known for hit songs “Eleven,” “Love Dive” and “After Like” With its three previous releases, IVE sold over 3 million in album sales and took home a total of 74 trophies in the span of two years.
