Russian military court holds hearing against Ukrainian serviceman accused of killing a civilian in Mariupol

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee said that on 27 March 2022 in the village of Mirny near Mariupol, Cherednik stopped two men and ordered them to lie on the ground. Realizing that there were civilians in front of him, he allegedly demanded to pronounce a phrase in Ukrainian, firing a machine gun into the air. Using an incorrect pronunciation as a pretext, Cherednik shot one of the men, the second remained alive and testified. EPA/STRINGER
