The People Power Party (PPP) has been careful not to provoke the liberals with fewer than 13 months left before the next parliamentary elections. But the conservative party is embarrassed after Kim Jae-won, a former lawmaker and a member of the Supreme Council of the party, raised controversy by praising Rev. Jeon Kwang-hoon, a right-wing pastor, for his pointed attacks on the liberals and opposing to reflect the spirit of the May 18, 1980 Gwangju Democracy Movement in the Constitution. [PARK YONG-SEOK]
