LS Electric names heir-apparent Koo Dong-hwi as board member

LS Electric’s Executive Vice President Koo Dong-hwi, the eldest son of LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-yeol and third-generation heir-apparent of the founding family, has been appointed as a board member of manufacturer of electrical equipment and automation systems.

According to sources on Friday, LS Electric’s board recently decided on the appointment and will seek approval during a shareholder meeting next month.

Koo Dong-hwi is expected to be named as another chief executive officer of LS Electric after the appointment is cleared.

LS Electric is currently led by two co-CEOs, who are Chairman Koo Ja-kyun and Executive Vice President Kim Dong-hyun responsible for environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.

Koo Dong-hwi, born in 1982, was promoted to executive vice president of LS Electric in an executive reshuffle in November last year.
