South Korea’s game major NCSoft Corp. achieved record sales from mobile games in 2022 on the back of its best-selling titles “Lineage W” and “Lineage M.”

NCSoft disclosed Thursday that it posted 559 billion won ($442. Million) in operating profit in 2022, up 49 percent from a year ago. Sales increased 11.4 percent to 2.6 trillion won and net profit 14.4 percent to 452.6 billion won.

Mobile game sales reached an all-time high of 1.9 trillion won, up 20 percent from a year ago, to account for 76.8 percent of its entire revenue.

“Participation from global users was high in Lineage W as we launched a big update to commemorate the first anniversary of its release,” said Lee Jang-woo, a director of investor relations at NCSoft. “Lineage M continues to see solid traffic.”

Sales from Lineage W reached 970.8 billion won, Lineage M 516.5 billion won, “Lineage 2M” 391.5 billion won, and “Blade & Soul 2” 55.6 billion won.

PC game sales reached 390.4 billion won in 2022, accounting for 15.2 percent of the entire sales. “Lineage” raised 107 billion, “Guild Wars 2” 95 billion won, “Lineage 2” 94 billion won, and “AION” 68 billion won.

Korea accounted for 63.2 percent of the entire sales, followed by Asia (24.3 percent), and North America and Europe (6.4 percent).

NCSoft’s overall operating costs rose 4 percent on year to 2.01 trillion won.

The game publisher plans to launch “Throne and Liberty”, the new PC and console platform title, in the global market in the first half of this year.
