No Korean company has reported damage from the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit southern Turkey and northern Syria on Monday.

Hyundai Motor's first overseas production plant in Turkey, located in Izmit, escaped damage. Izmit is about 900 kilometers (559 miles) from the epicenter in Gaziantep.

Samsung Electronics runs a sales subsidiary in the capital of Istanbul (more than 1,100 kilometers from Gaziantep) and has been producing its smartphones at a plant near Istanbul since 2021. An assembly plant ran by a local partner company is also located in Istanbul, and neither have reported damages.

LG Electronics' sales subsidiary in Istanbul also escaped any damage.

Lotte Chemical runs an artificial marble plant in Izmir, western Turkey, which is also more than 1,100 kilometers from the epicenter.

Hyundai Motor's plant in Izmit was established in 1997 and currently produces small i10 and i20 cars. Its annual production capacity is 200,000 cars, which are sold customs-free to Europe.

Samsung's plant near Istabul produces up to 3 million smartphones annually.
