Dozens of Ukrainian and Russian prisoners of war freed in prisoner exchange

The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced on 04 February 2023, that 116 Ukrainian military personnel were freed from Russian captivity and returned to Ukraine in a prisoner exchange. Along with the POWs, the bodies of British volunteers Chris Parry and Andrew Bagshaw, as well of volunteer Evgen Kulyk, had been returned, Yermak added. The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that 63 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were freed as a result of a 'complex negotiation process'.
