Girl group Twice will be the first K-pop act to receive the Breakthrough Award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards, set to take place on March 1.
The award honors “today’s most influential female powerhouses who are shaping the music landscape,” said Billboard on Monday.
Other winners at this year's Billboard Women in Music Awards include singer Becky G, rapper Doechii and Latto, rapper and singer-songwriter Ivy Queen and singer-songwriters Kim Petras, Lainey Wilson and Lana Del Rey. The 2023 Woman of the Year has not been announced.
Twice pre-released its English song “Moonlight Sunrise” on Jan. 20, which topped the Spotify Top Songs Debut Chart and ranked second place and seventh place on the U.S. and the U.K. Spotify Chart respectively. The song is also set to land at No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart on the week starting this Saturday.
Twice will release its new EP this March.
