Boy band Tomorrow X Together is rocking Japan, landing atop Japanese Oricon music chart's daily album rankings chart with its latest EP “The Name Chapter: Temptation” on Saturday.
The EP sold 184,971 copies in Japan on the day of its release on Friday, rewriting its own record of 179,421 copies sold with its fourth EP "minisode 2: Thursday's Child" last year.
The EP also topped Japan's iTunes top albums chart while the music video for the lead track, "Sugar Rush Ride," became the No. 1 trending music video on YouTube in Japan.
"Sugar Rush Ride" is also performing strong in other countries, landing at No. 38 on global music streaming service Spotify's latest daily top song global chart on Friday. Other songs included in the EP also landed on the chart, such as "tinnitus" on No. 70 and "Devil by the Window" on No. 73.
“The Name Chapter: Temptation” sold 1,868,919 copies on the day of release, making Tomorrow X Together the first boy band since BTS to sell over 1.8 million copies of an album on day one.
"The Name Chapter" is a new album series taking off from the "minisode" series, which will start by telling the story of various temptations the members face during their journey as they head toward self-growth.
