Girl group aespa will perform at the Governors Ball Music Festival 2023 in June, marking a first for a K-pop artist, said the band's agency SM Entertainment on Wednesday.
The Governors Ball Music Festival 2023 will be held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York from June 6 to June 11, with a total of four stage floors and over 70 performances planned.
The girl group will perform on the festival’s main stage on June 10. Headliners for this year’s festival include Lizzo, Odesza and Kendrick Lamar.
The girl group first performed in the U.S. at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2022 and went on to perform at the GMA 2022 Summer Concert Series, which was another first for a K-pop group.
aespa released its second EP “Girls” in July 2022. The group is reported to be currently working on a follow-up album.
