YouTuber Ken Rhee reported 457 malicious comments posted on online news articles, most of which were covering the former Navy officer going to Ukraine despite government warning.
According to the Namdaemun Police Precinct, Rhee compiled data of 457 derogatory comments in 80 pages of paper and made the report to the police last October.
The police have been tracking down each comment writer based on their IP addresses and recently began questioning possible suspects, according to a report by SBS.
Rhee, a Korean YouTuber and former Korean Navy special forces officer, illegally traveled to Ukraine to join volunteer troops fighting against the Russian invasion last March.
Rhee returned to Korea on May 27, 2022 because of injuries sustained to his ACL. He has been indicted by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office for violation of the passport law.
