Hankook Tire to provide tires for Toyota’s first electric SUV

South Korea’s Hankook Tire & Technology Co. said on Thursday its electric vehicle tire Ventus S1 evo3 EV will be mounted on Toyota Motor Corp.’s first electric sport-utility vehicle bZ4X.

The Ventus S1 evo3 EV, engineered for strong driving performance, features reduced rolling resistance, lower weight and higher load-bearing capacity. The tire is equipped with noise reduction technology to minimize road noise and electric vehicle-specific compound technology to maximize durability and improve fuel efficiency.

The bZ4X is Toyota’s first all-electric SUV model to be sold in China. Hankook Tire will provide the model with the tire in two sizes, 18 inches and 20 inches.

Since 2011, Hankook Tire has maintained a partnership with Toyota, supplying tires for the automaker’s vehicles such as Camry, Sienta, Tacoma, Corolla and Sienna.

The Ventus S1 evo3 EV will also be installed in other EV models including Porsche Taycan, Volkswagen ID.4 and Audi e-tron GT.
