Kyrgyz police detain protesters over the Kempir-Abad reservoir dispute

A peaceful march took place in Bishkek demanding the release of detained members of the so-called Kempir-Abad reservoir support committee. On their way to the Government House, participants were detained by police. Since 23 October 2022, mass detentions of opponents of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border demarcation deal which includes the reservoir's transfer to Uzbekistan began.
