SK ecoplant signed an agreement with Plug and Play to locate and invest in global eco-friendly technologies.
The two companies signed the agreement on Thursday at CES in Las Vegas.
SK ecoplant is an energy solution company and Plug and Play is an early-stage investor focused on emerging growth companies. It has invested in Google, PayPal and Dropbox.
Through the agreement, the two companies will seek out startups with promising technologies on environment and energy and help them commercialize their technologies, said SK ecoplant in a press release on Sunday.
They will help the companies expand their businesses globally and use their technologies to create synergy with their existing businesses.
“The latest agreement is meaningful in that global and innovative eco-friendly technologies are discovered at their early stage and are used to build a sustainable ecosystem,” said Park Kyung-il, SK ecoplant CEO, in a press statement. The company will help develop the future environment through close cooperation with startups running eco-friendly businesses, he added.
