Zojila Pass remained open to keep the strategic Srinagar-Ladakh Highway open

For the first time in its history the Zojila Pass has remained open until 06 January during the winter. The Zojila pass, at an altitude of 11,643 feet, connects Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory with the Ladakh Union Territory on the fair weather strategic Srinagar-Leh Road used to get blocked early winter.
