LG Electronics Inc. on Wednesday unveiled the world’s first wireless TV at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 in Las Vegas, opening a new era of organic light emitting diode (OLED) TV with “zero connect” technology.

During “LG World Premier” event Wednesday, one day before CES 2023 opening, the South Korean tech giant presented LG Signature OLED M, the world’s first consumer TV equipped with zero connect technology and 4K 120Hz wireless solution.

The revolutionary OLED TV M3 comes with a Zero Connect box that sends video and audio signals to LG screen wirelessly. The box, which can be placed up to 10 meters away from the TV, helps create cleaner space as there are no wires and cables from set-up boxes and HDMI devices. It can connect various surrounding devices such as consoles and sound bars as it supports HDMI 2.1, USB, RF, LAN Port and Bluetooth.

The independently-developed real-time video and audio wireless transmission solution sends big amounts of data at three times faster speed versus existing WiFi 6E. The TV also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio technology.

“We completely changed customers’ TV viewing experience by introducing the first OLED TV that no one ever imagined,” said Cho Joo-wan, chief executive officer of LG Electronics. “LG OLED TV is celebrating its 10th year and is looking ahead into another 10 years.”

Cho pointed to diversification in its business portfolio to boost innovation speed by expanding customer experience. He vowed to enhance content partnership with Paramount Streaming that offers streaming service through WebOS software.

The LG Electronics North American Innovation Center (LG NOVA) will also put efforts to introduce innovative businesses.

“We are expanding investments in key technologies such as artificial intelligence and sixth-generation wireless technology, while broadening business portfolio to a wider range of areas such as electric vehicle charging, digital health and WebOS-based content service,” Cho said. “We are actively seeking cooperation with global strategic partners.”
