Robots for hire in Korea available for cooking, cleaning and more

As robots are rapidly becoming part of everyday life in Korea, the robot rental market is growing fast with businesses hiring robots for various jobs, from cooking and delivering food to cleaning rooms.

Robot servers are among the popular robots for rent.

RGT, a Korean service robot solution firm, provides rental services of its robot server, called Sirbot. Developed in-house, Sirbot is equipped with radar sensors and 3D cameras to smoothly move around in any areas, from small diners to large food courts and even supermarkets, according to the company.

There are also cooking and cleaning robots for rent.

Adela, a developer of robot coffee barista, has jumped into the robot rental market. Its barista robot, named Adela, is able to prepare 16 different types of coffee, as well as clean the coffee machine. Also, it takes only 36 seconds for Adela to prepare a cup of coffee, making it an attractive option during busy hours.

Robo Arete, known for Robert Chicken robot that cooks deep fried chicken, also began rental service. Robert Chicken is capable of deep-frying 50 chickens per hour, allowing restaurants to cut cooking time as well as save labor cost, according to the company.

KT Corp. rents out robot cleaner. Equipped with ultraviolet-C LED lamps, the robot cleaner performs disinfection and sterilization tasks in pre-programmed spaces. Its 36-month rental package includes on-site check-up, filter change and after-sales service.

As the robot market expands fast, traditional electronics rental service firms are adding these robots to their offering.

Korea Rental Corp., which provides rental service of industrial equipment and computers to corporate customers, began robot rental service in 2017. Its robots for rent range from robot servers to delivery robots and therapy robots.
