Costume maker for Gilles de Binche Carnival

The Kersten family has been making the 'Gilles de Binche' carnival costumes since 1903 and in their more than 100 years of existence, five generations have followed each other in manufacturing these sophisticated costumes. As the Binche carnival had to be canceled in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it caused a big financial loss for the Kersten family; but since the confirmation of various Binche carnivals due to take place in the region, many revelers have rushed to Louis and his daughter Fanny to order their hats and costumes. At the beginning of January 2023, the Kersten family's order book was already as full as in the week before carnival in previous years.
