President Yoon Suk Yeol warned Wednesday that the South Korean government will consider suspending the September 19 military agreement if North Korea commits another territorial invasion.
According to the presidential office on Wednesday President Yoon held an undisclosed meeting with the Office of National Security, as well as the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Agency for Defense Development.
The military agreement was made between President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang in 2018 where the two sides agreed on easing military tensions between the two Koreas.
Last month North Korea breached South Korean territory when five drones flew across the boarder with one entering Seoul's airspace. The South Korean military announced that it had responded in kind by sending one of its own drones over the North Korean border, which was not detected.
