European Parliament to strip immunity from two members over corruption accusations

The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola said on 02 January an urgent procedure was launched for the waiver of immunity of two Members of the European Parliament following a request from the Belgian judicial authorities. MEP Eva Kaili was dismissed on 13 December from the vice presidency of the European Parliament over allegations of corruption.
