The key suspect in the Lime Asset Management scandal Kim Bong-hyun was caught by police in Gyeonggi after 48 days of being on the run.
Kim, former chairman of Star Mobility and a key figure in the financial scandal surrounding Lime Asset Management, last month cut off his monitoring ankle bracelet ahead of the final court hearing.
Kim is on trial for extortion and bribery that involves politicians and former Blue House officials.
Lime Asset Management became the center of controversy in 2020 after investors suffered major losses when the hedge fund manager suspended the redeeming of 1.7 trillion won on its misselling of problematic products.
Kim has been out on bail since July last year.
