NCSoft will launch its new game Throne and Liberty within the first half of 2023, the publisher said Tuesday.
Anticipated to be the biggest title to come from the publisher next year, the massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) is the company's first game to be created from an entirely new storyline since Blade & Soul in 2012.
Until now, the company has focused on creating content based on reboots and remakes, such as the Lineage franchise — Lineage, Lineage 2, Lineage 2M and Lineage W.
The distinct characteristic of the game is that it’s set in a "seamless" universe which consists of a past, present and future based on the choices players make.
"Unlike other smaller-scale games, the narrative flow of the characters in Throne and Liberty stays the same wherever you go within the game, which is why we labeled it as 'seamless,'" an NCSoft spokesperson said.
The game will be simultaneously released around the globe.
It will be multi-platform, which means it will be available on both PC and consoles, in an aim to appeal to a wider range of users. Versions for Windows, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox and Stream have been prepared for release.
“We developed the game to be enjoyed by everyone transcending nationality and generation,” Chief Creative Officer Kim Taek-jin said in a press release.
Further information will be uploaded on the game's official website tl.plaync.com.
