A man who was arrested under the suspicion of murdering and hiding the body of a taxi driver in a closet confessed to killing his ex-girlfriend.
The 32-year-old admitted to killing his 50-something-year-old ex-girlfriend who he lived with, according to the Ilsan Dongbu Police Precinct.
The police applied for an arrest warrant on the charges of murder and hiding a corpse on Tuesday.
According to the man, the woman was murdered in August and was abandoned near a stream in Paju, Gyeonggi.
The house in which the body of the dead taxi driver was found hidden in a closet also appeared to be owned by the ex-girlfriend.
The police had been further investigating the case as the owner of the house was unable to be reached.
The man had been living in the house after he allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend.
He is also accused of murdering a taxi driver on Dec. 20 and hiding the body after he was involved in a car crash with the taxi driver while drunk driving at around 11 p.m. the same day.
According to the suspect, he began a quarrel with the taxi driver, killed him and hid him in a closet.
